SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) responded to a car crash and fire on Fruitville Road at the intersection of Paramount Drive at approximately 9 p.m. on Monday.
According to FHP, no fatalities were reported; however, several individuals were transported to the hospital for treatment. The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) and the Sarasota County Fire Department assisted in the response.
Authorities stated that eastbound lanes on Fruitville Road will remain closed while the crash and fire are investigated and the scene is cleared.
In a separate incident, 15-year-old Jaden Law was found deceased inside a fitting room at Dick's House of Sports at Brandon Exchange on Friday, following reports of gunfire.
