INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An early morning crash on the Indiana Toll Road in Steuben County has resulted in traffic delays and a planned detour.
The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, involving a red 2020 Volvo towing a trailer that veered off the road in a construction zone near mile marker 143.6. According to Indiana State Police, the truck entered a closed lane and subsequently crashed. The driver was unharmed.
While eastbound traffic can currently pass the scene, authorities announced that it will be diverted at Exit 121 for Howe/LaGrange starting at approximately 10 a.m. EDT.
The detour will direct drivers south on SR 9, east on SR 120, and north on I 69 back to the eastbound Indiana Toll Road. This detour is expected to remain in effect for several hours as crews work to remove the semi-truck and repair the barrier wall in the construction area.
No further details about the investigation have been released at this time.
