Pearl City Road Worker Seriously Injured in on H-1 Freeway

PEARL CITY, HI – A 25-year-old road worker was seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident Wednesday night on the H-1 Freeway, according to Honolulu Police.

The collision occurred around 8:15 p.m. eastbound near the Pearlridge/Waimalu exit. Authorities reported that an unidentified driver left the roadway, entering a coned-off and striking the worker.

The driver fled the scene without rendering aid or providing information, police said. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services transported the injured worker to an area hospital in serious condition.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not confirmed if speed, alcohol, or drugs were factors in the incident.
