Four-Vehicle Crash on I-95 in Sidney Injures Three

SIDNEY, ME — A four-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 95 North on Monday at approximately 3:30 p.m. as traffic slowed near a separate police stop.

According to authorities, 58-year-old Derrick Forbes of Brewer failed to stop his Dodge Ram and rear-ended a Mitsubishi Outlander. The impact caused Forbes' vehicle to sideswipe a Pilot and a Toyota Tundra.

Two individuals in the Outlander, along with the driver of the Pilot, were transported to Maine General Medical Center and Thayer Hospital, respectively, with non-life-threatening injuries. Forbes did not sustain any injuries.

Emergency response teams briefly closed both northbound lanes after the incident, with the right lane remaining closed until the vehicles and debris were cleared. The crash remains under investigation, authorities confirmed.
