Tiger Woods Arrested on DUI Charges Following Friday Crash in Martin County, Florida
MARTIN COUNTY, FL — Golf legend Tiger Woods was arrested for driving under the influence following a rollover crash on Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 3 p.m. when Woods's vehicle struck a trailer, causing his SUV to overturn on Jupiter Island, officials confirmed. The 50-year-old was found with bloodshot eyes and “extremely dilated pupils,” according to a Martin County Sheriff's Office report.
Woods, who was not injured, allegedly failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody shortly after the crash. Two pills identified as hydrocodone were found during a search, and Woods stated he had taken “a few” prescription medications earlier that day. He refused to submit to a urine test for controlled substances.
Authorities said Woods exhibited impaired faculties and was unable to operate his vehicle safely. He has been charged with DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test, both misdemeanors.
Woods was released from the Martin County Jail the same day. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 5. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
This incident follows Woods's notable history with car accidents and substance-related offenses. He has previously been arrested on similar charges and has undergone multiple surgeries following injuries from past incidents.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details are available at this time.
