MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho — At approximately 12:10 p.m. MDT on May 17, 2026, two U.S. Navy EA-18G aircraft collided mid-air during the Gunfighter Skies Air Show near Mountain Home Air Force Base.
Authorities said that all four pilots successfully ejected from the aircraft. One pilot is currently receiving treatment for a non-life-threatening injury at a local hospital, while the other three pilots reported no injuries.
The collision occurred during an aerial demonstration by Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 129 from Whidbey Island, Washington. Recovery efforts are underway to secure debris from the crash site, with several components classified for national security reasons.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
