GRUNDY COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVF) — A pickup truck veered off State Route 108 in Gruetli-Laager on Saturday around 12:30 p.m., crashing into a tent where over 50 people had gathered for an estate auction, injuring at least 5 individuals.
Hosts of the auction stated the crowd received no warning before the vehicle struck the tent. Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
Witnesses reported that several attendees were pinned under the truck post-crash. Bystanders assisted in lifting the vehicle to free those trapped.
Emergency crews arrived on the scene, and medical aid was provided to the injured. Reports indicate one person may be deceased, but this detail is yet to be confirmed.
