Deputy Injured in Highway 47 Crash in Dickson County.

DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Dickson County school resource officer was injured in a crash on Friday morning, according to the Dickson County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Gregory Dearborn, assigned to Vanleer Elementary School, sustained minor injuries and is expected to recover.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred around 6:13 a.m. on Highway 47 near Sherman Road.

Authorities indicated that Dearborn was driving a Dickson County Sheriff's Office Explorer when it was rear-ended by another vehicle, with both traveling north. Both drivers sustained injuries.

After the collision, the other vehicle veered off the road, striking a guardrail and a tree.

Dearborn will not face charges. The other driver was cited for failure to exercise due care, pending further investigation.
