Pedestrian Critically Injured in Goldsboro Crash Saturday Night

GOLDSBORO, NC — A 79-year-old sustained critical injuries in a collision on Saturday, September 13, around 8:15 p.m. in the 800 block of W. Grantham Street.

According to Goldsboro Police, the driver, a 71-year-old man, was traveling westbound when the pedestrian, identified as William Hardy, crossed from the eastbound lanes. Hardy was initially taken to UNC Health Wayne before being to ECU Health in critical condition.

Authorities confirmed that impairment did not play a role in the accident, and the investigation is ongoing. News 12 will provide updates as further information becomes available.
