Tuscaloosa Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 11
A 38-year-old woman from Tuscaloosa died in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 11 on Aug. 23.
According to authorities, Tresda M. Caddell was a passenger in a 2002 GMC Yukon when the driver lost control around 5:30 a.m. The vehicle left the roadway, struck an embankment, and then overturned, hitting a utility pole.
Caddell was ejected from the GMC and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities reported she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The 66-year-old driver from Cottondale was not injured.
The crash took place near Cedar Cove Loop Road, approximately two miles east of Coaling. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division is investigating the incident.
