Hockessin Crash Claims Life of Pennsylvania Man
Hockessin, DE—A 65-year-old man from Pennsylvania died following a head-on collision with a pickup truck on Route 48 on March 10, authorities said.
Delaware State Police responded to the incident near Mc Govern Road at approximately 1:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found both drivers injured: the Pennsylvania man and a 79-year-old Hockessin resident.
Both individuals were transported to a local hospital, where the Pennsylvania man was later pronounced dead. His identity will be released pending family notification. The Hockessin man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the Hockessin driver was traveling south on Route 48 in a Chevrolet Silverado when the Pennsylvania man, driving a Hyundai Sonata, crossed the double yellow line, resulting in the head-on collision.
The road was closed for roughly three hours as the investigation continued.
