DENVER — Colorado State Patrol is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash in Adams County from Monday night.
The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of southbound Highway 287 and W. 66th Avenue. Two pedestrians were struck while crossing the highway by a Ford F-150, which fled the scene.
A 38-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 46-year-old man was transported to a medical facility with serious injuries, according to CSP.
Authorities located the abandoned white Ford F-150 believed to be involved in the crash near Decatur Street, just south of W. 67th Place. Investigators noted that the damage on the vehicle corresponds with the crash details.
CSP has identified a person of interest in connection to the incident and is actively seeking this individual. Further information about the suspect has not yet been disclosed.
Roadways in the vicinity were closed but reopened around 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday.
