COLUMBUS, Ohio — A motorcyclist died after a two-vehicle collision at Parsons Ave. and East Woodrow Ave. on Wednesday evening.
According to the Columbus Police Department, officers were called at 6:22 p.m. for a crash involving multiple vehicles.
Authorities said the victim, identified as 45-year-old Eric Kovach, was pronounced dead at 6:26 p.m. by Columbus Division of Fire personnel.
A police incident summary said Kovach's green 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle was northbound on Parsons Ave. as a black 2012 BMW X5 M5, southbound on Parsons Ave., waited to turn east onto Woodrow Ave. The vehicles collided in the intersection.
According to a state crash report narrative, the motorcyclist was traveling about 100 miles per hour and weaving through traffic prior to the crash.
Authorities said the BMW's driver was uninjured. No additional injuries were reported.
