BOWMAN COUNTY, N.D. — A 67-year-old man died in a crash on Highway 12 Friday morning, July 3.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. The victim, driving a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500, was traveling westbound near mile marker 30 when he reportedly experienced a medical emergency, causing the vehicle to veer off the road.
The truck left the roadway to the left, entered the south ditch, and struck a tree. It subsequently traveled onto a gravel frontage road before coming to rest in the ditch. Emergency responders from Bowman Ambulance Service transported the man to Bowman Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed that he was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. Further details regarding lane closures or road conditions were not provided.
