OLD HICKORY, Tenn. (WTVF) — A fatal crash claimed the life of 65-year-old Carrie McManama early Monday morning on Robinson Road.
Metro Nashville Police reported that McManama was driving the wrong way in the northbound lanes when her vehicle collided head-on with a semi-truck. She died at the scene, and authorities stated that toxicology testing will be conducted to determine if impairment was a factor.
Witnesses described McManama as a beloved community member and owner of Chopper's Grill. Kenny Chandler, a longtime customer, highlighted her contributions: “She does Christmas for kids and schedules benefit rides for people who have died on motorcycles.”
Local business owner Madison Knowe noted McManama's welcoming spirit, recalling how she allowed her bookstore to share signage when it opened. “She was really kind to us… a great neighbor,” Knowe remarked.
The community is mourning her sudden loss, recognizing her deep impact on local gatherings and charitable events. “It will never be the same over here,” Chandler said.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash. No further details regarding road closures or vehicle damage were released.
