MCINTOSH COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — A 17-year-old teenager was killed in a accident early Wednesday morning in McIntosh County.

Emergency crews responded to the crash on I-40 at mile marker 254 shortly before 5 a.m. According to authorities, a westbound vehicle in the inside lane left the roadway and collided with a tree.

The accident report indicates that a 17-year-old passenger seated behind the driver was from the vehicle and died from their injuries.

In addition, the driver and five other passengers sustained injuries in the crash. Emergency medical services transported the injured individuals for treatment. Further details regarding their conditions were not immediately available.
