Columbus, Ohio — June 27, 2026: New auxiliary lanes opened along eastbound I-270 between U.S. 23 and I-71 to ease congestion.
According to transportation officials, the added lanes run beside the eastbound outerbelt between U.S. 23 in Worthington and the I-71 interchange on the 56-mile loop.
Authorities said the segment has been the most crash-prone on I-270, long a choke point as drivers merge for I-71 south to Columbus or north toward Delaware.
