CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — Federal investigators are looking into what led to Friday's deadly school bus crash west of Nashville as students in Clarksville-Montgomery County returned to class Monday.
While traveling to a field trip Friday, a school bus carrying students and staff from the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System crashed in Carroll County, Tennessee, claiming the lives of two Kenwood Middle School students. At least seven students were also hospitalized, and the bus driver was also injured.

Now, the National Transportation Safety Board said it is investigating the crash in coordination with the Tennessee Highway Patrol. In a statement, the NTSB said its investigation will examine school bus driver performance, student passenger occupant protection and the oversight of school transportation operations.
Students return to class Monday, and Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools Director Dr. Jean Luna-Vedder is asking students and staff to wear black and gold to show support for the community.
