Serious Crash at Bedford Toll Plaza Injures Driver

Bedford, NH – March 31, 2026, at 11:55 a.m. — A serious vehicle crash occurred at the toll plaza on the northbound FE Everett Turnpike, injuring the male driver.

According to authorities, the single-occupant vehicle, a 2026 Lucid Gravid electric , collided with cement barriers at the toll plaza and became engulfed in flames. A trooper on the governor's security detail witnessed the incident and, along with bystanders, removed the driver from the vehicle.

Emergency responders from Troop B, Troop G, Bedford, Litchfield, and Merrimack Fire Departments quickly arrived on the scene. The driver was transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. His current condition remains unknown.

Northbound lanes of the FE Everett Turnpike are closed as the New Hampshire Department of Transportation inspects the toll plaza for damage from the crash and fire. The cause of the accident is under investigation. No other injuries were reported.
