Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash in Glasgow Claims One Life
Glasgow, DE — A three-car crash on Route 896 resulted in one fatality and one serious injury on April 1, according to Delaware State Police.
Authorities responded to the incident shortly after 6:45 p.m. near the intersection of Route 896 and South Old Baltimore Pike. A 45-year-old man from Newark was operating a Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound when he crossed the median and collided with a southbound Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 42-year-old Newark man.
During the collision, a third vehicle, a Subaru Ascent driven by a 42-year-old Middletown man, was also involved; however, that driver sustained no injuries, police reported.
Paramedics transported both Newark men to a nearby hospital, where the 45-year-old was later pronounced dead. His identity will be released pending family notification. The 42-year-old driver remains in critical condition, authorities said.
The crash caused lane closures on Route 896 as the investigation continues. Further details will be provided as they become available.
