NEW ORLEANS — All lanes of U.S. 90 Business East have reopened following a significant crash that occurred before the Crescent City Connection Bridge on Saturday after 3:30 p.m.

Authorities confirmed that two vehicles, including an 18-wheeler, were involved in the accident. The incident resulted in major delays for drivers commuting from the West Bank into New Orleans, with congestion reported as far back as Stumpf Boulevard.

Witnesses indicated that one motorist was stuck in traffic for approximately 2½ hours and expressed safety concerns regarding the proximity of pedestrians to the vehicles involved, particularly a chemical truck.

Emergency responders handled the scene, and comments from the Louisiana State Police are pending as investigations continue. The roadway is now clear, and all lanes have been restored to normal traffic conditions.
