NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A 34-year-old Nashville woman lost her life in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 24 East near Harding Place on Friday morning.
Jessica F. Turner was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident, which occurred shortly after 10 a.m. Authorities report that Turner was riding a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle when she entered the eastbound ramp from Harding Place.
Witnesses stated the motorcycle appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed and briefly veered into a grassy area beside the roadway. Upon returning to the pavement, Turner reportedly lost control of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle subsequently slid into the path of a Toyota Sequoia that was traveling on I-24 East. The Sequoia collided with Turner and her motorcycle, while part of the motorcycle also struck a nearby minivan, causing damage.
Drivers of both the SUV and minivan remained at the scene and reported no injuries. The Metro Nashville Police Department indicated that speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash, though no signs of impairment were found at the scene.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
