Raleigh, NC — A collision occurred near UNC Rex Hospital on Thursday at approximately 2:41 p.m.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, three vehicles were involved in the accident on I-440 North. Two individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital by Wake County EMS.

Authorities confirmed that both directions of I-440 experienced lane closures as emergency services responded to the scene. The accident is under investigation, and no fatalities have been reported.

The Raleigh Police Department and the Wake County Fire Department assisted at the scene. Tow trucks were deployed to remove the vehicles involved in the collision, with recovery efforts concluding by 4:30 p.m.

Witnesses reported heavy traffic congestion in the area following the crash, with delays expected to persist as crews cleared the roadway.
