Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash in Geneva County Claims One Life
HARTFORD, AL – A multi-vehicle crash on Alabama 123, about 7 miles northeast of Hartford, occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m. Saturday.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), 24-year-old Veronica Garcia-Mata of Hartford collided with a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old. Following the initial impact, Garcia-Mata struck a third vehicle operated by a 73-year-old woman from Brundidge, Alabama.
Garcia-Mata was pronounced dead at the scene. The younger driver reported no injuries, while the 73-year-old was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators from ALEA are currently looking into the cause of the crash. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
