KANSAS CITY, KAN. — One person died following a collision involving a motorcycle and a Toyota Corolla on Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of State Avenue and 47th Street. According to the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department, the motorcycle collided with the Corolla, resulting in a vehicle fire.
Emergency responders, including firefighters and paramedics, arrived on the scene to extinguish the fire and provide medical aid. One individual was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Authorities confirmed that no other injuries were reported. The eastbound lanes of State Avenue were closed for several hours during the investigation and cleanup efforts. The road was reopened by 6:45 p.m.
