A single-vehicle crash in Bibb County claimed the life of a 28-year-old Maylene man on Aug. 9, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
Brett M. Whitley was driving a 2010 Toyota Tundra when, at approximately 10 a.m., he lost control of the vehicle on Bibb County 24, about 2 miles east of West Blocton. The vehicle reportedly left the roadway, struck multiple trees, and overturned. ALEA confirmed Whitley was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, leading to his death at the scene.
The investigation is being conducted by ALEA's Highway Patrol Division. No further details are currently available.
