Man Killed in Train Collision Near Harvey, North Dakota.

HARVEY, N.D. — A 74-year-old man from Esmond was killed Saturday afternoon, Aug. 22, in a train collision near Harvey.

At approximately 2:48 p.m., an eastbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe train struck a 2022 Silverado that was stationary on the tracks about 5 miles northeast of Harvey, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The crossing at 35th Avenue Northeast is marked with yield signs but is uncontrolled.

The driver suffered fatal injuries from the incident, authorities confirmed. The crash is currently under investigation. Responding agencies included the Wells County Sheriff's Office, Pierce County Sheriff's Office, Harvey Fire Department, and Harvey Ambulance.
