Bowdoinham, ME — A fatal crash occurred Sunday, leaving one man dead when his vehicle veered off Interstate 295.

The incident took place at approximately 4 p.m. on mile marker 37. According to Maine State Police, the driver, identified as Nicholas Disy, 52, from Milford, Pennsylvania, lost control of his vehicle while traveling south.

Witnesses reported seeing a fire on the roadway. Police found the vehicle off the road in the median, having struck multiple trees before igniting.

No other vehicles were involved, and Disy was the sole occupant of his vehicle. Emergency responders confirmed there were no injuries to others.
