Dedham Hit-and-Run Leaves Pedestrian Injured
DEDMAN, MA — A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run crash on Needham Street Wednesday evening around 7:30 p.m.
Officers arrived at the 500 block of Needham Street to find a 38-year-old man conscious but requiring medical assistance. He was treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver involved did not stop after the incident, and authorities reported the vehicle was heading toward Needham. Approximately 15 minutes after the crash, a family member of the driver contacted Dedham Police, inquiring about potential reports of a deer being struck.
Police later visited the driver's residence, where they towed the vehicle believed to be involved for investigative processing.
Authorities have identified the driver and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
