NOTTOWAY COUNTY, Va. — A man died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash on Route 460 early Sunday morning, according to Virginia State Police.
Troopers responded to the scene on the eastbound side of Route 460, just east of Cox Road, at 1:55 a.m.
Authorities reported that a 2024 Kia sedan veered off the left side of the road and collided with two trees.
The driver and a female passenger were airlifted to a local hospital for treatment. A rear-seat passenger, identified as 40-year-old Clarence Eugene Jones Jr. of Petersburg, was also flown to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Authorities noted that Jones was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The incident is under investigation by the Virginia State Police.
