ROCKFORD, Ill. — A 38-year-old man was killed in a car crash on College Avenue Wednesday morning.
Around 11:15 a.m., Brett Bothwell of Machesney Park lost control of his vehicle while driving east near Seminary Street, according to authorities.
Rockford Police and Rockford Fire responded to the scene and found Bothwell unconscious. He received medical aid at the scene and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 12 p.m.
The Winnebago County Coroner's Office performed an autopsy, and the cause of death is pending further studies.
The incident remains under investigation by the Coroner's Office and the Rockford Police Department.
