PELHAM — A 63-year-old Lowell man was arrested Sunday night following a pickup truck crash into a utility pole on Dutton Road.
Authorities said the accident occurred around 10:15 p.m., resulting in the utility pole snapping. The driver, whose name has not been released, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Witnesses reported hearing a loud crash and saw the vehicle partially obstructing the road. Emergency responders from the Pelham Fire Department arrived on the scene shortly after the incident.
Dutton Road was closed for approximately two hours to allow for the removal of debris and towing of the vehicle. National Grid crews were also dispatched to address the damaged utility pole.
Local police are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, and charges against the driver are pending.
