Laurel County officials arrest woman for DUI after serious crash.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A serious vehicle collision occurred Friday evening on Kentucky Route 192 west of London, resulting in one critical injury.

Authorities said the incident happened around 8:50 p.m. when 39-year-old Amber Taylor of London crossed the centerline while driving a Subaru Outback, colliding head-on with a Nissan Maxima occupied by two males from London.

Following the crash, both vehicles obstructed the roadway. Taylor sustained a possible head injury and was transported to a nearby hospital. The Nissan's driver suffered minor injuries, while a passenger was critically injured and to a hospital in Lexington for immediate care.

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office is conducting the investigation. Taylor was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and was subsequently lodged at the Laurel County Correctional Center. She was released the following day, on Saturday, Feb. 21.

Assisting agencies included the London-Laurel Rescue Squad, Laurel County 911 Communication Center, Ambulance of Laurel County, Laurel County Fire Department, Kentucky State Police, and University of Kentucky Police Department.
