Kate Beckinsale Cast in New Survival Thriller “White”

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA — Actress Kate Beckinsale has joined the cast of “White,” directed by Jake West, confirmed on December 5, 2023.

The film features Beckinsale as a studio boss and stars Katherine McNamara as a marine biologist. “White” follows a struggling actress whose private jet crashes into the Pacific Ocean, leaving her stranded and reliant on a satellite phone to call for help.

According to the production team, the screenplay explores intense themes of survival and suspense, set against the backdrop of the notorious White Shark Café, an area known for its great white shark activity.

Beckinsale will also serve as an executive producer alongside Yariv Lerner, Dominic Burns, Crawford Anderson-Dillon, and Sky Morfopoulos. Highland Film Group is handling worldwide sales.

“White” aims to deliver an elevated adventure filled with tension and emotion. The film adds to the wave of recent shark-themed survival movies, following Netflix's “Thrash,” which features survival during a hurricane and shark attacks.

As the interest in ocean-based thrillers continues, “White” anticipates a captivating response from audiences.
