Juvenile Pedestrian Killed in Indianola Collision
Indianola, IA — A juvenile pedestrian was killed in a vehicle collision Sunday evening, Sept. 27, in the 400 block of West 18th Place.
According to the Indianola Police Department, officials received reports of the incident shortly before 6 p.m. Emergency personnel arrived to find bystanders attempting to resuscitate the victim. Officers assumed lifesaving efforts, and a medical helicopter was requested due to the severity of the injuries.
Despite these efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that the vehicle's driver was also a juvenile. The identities of both individuals have not been released to protect their privacy.
The Iowa State Patrol has taken over the investigation. No further details regarding the circumstances of the collision have been disclosed.
