A juvenile was critically injured late May 13 when an SUV struck them on Hilliard Rome Road on Columbus' Far West Side.
The crash occurred at 11:58 p.m. as the juvenile crossed Hilliard Rome Road south of Hilliard Rome Road East against a “Don't Walk” signal, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
Authorities said a southbound 2015 Toyota Highlander hit the pedestrian. The driver remained at the scene.
Medics took the juvenile to Nationwide Children's Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Police said a previous division news release incorrectly reported the crash was fatal.
