NEW PLYMOUTH, Idaho (CBS2) — A woman was rescued from her vehicle Tuesday morning following a crash at the intersection of Highway 52 and Highway 72.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:01 a.m., leading to a rapid response from local emergency services. Payette County Paramedics, along with the New Plymouth, Sand Hollow, and Payette fire departments, as well as the Payette County Sheriff's Office, were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, responders found the woman trapped inside her vehicle, which was partially pinned under a pickup truck. Notably, a crane crew from Orizabas Crane Service of Emmett, passing nearby, was called to assist. Firefighters requested help from Payette County Sheriff's Deputy Travis Downey, who coordinated with the crane crew to provide necessary lifting equipment for the rescue.

According to Payette County Sheriff Andy Creech, the quick action and cooperation of the crane crew were crucial in saving the woman's life. A bystander, identified as a nurse, also provided immediate aid to the driver before first responders arrived.

The woman sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Payette County Paramedics. She is expected to recover. No injuries were reported for the occupants of the pickup.

“This is what community is about: strangers stepping up without hesitation when someone needs help the most,” Sheriff Creech stated, expressing gratitude to all who assisted in the rescue effort.
