A 47-year-old man from Jacksonville died in a single-vehicle crash on Alabama Highway 216 on July 4, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
Authorities identified the driver as Jonathan D. Goodner. He was operating a 2023 Ford Edge that veered off the roadway, struck a sign, and subsequently collided with a tree.
The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m., approximately five miles west of Brookwood in Tuscaloosa County. Goodner was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers from ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are investigating the incident. No additional information has been released at this time.
