Injury reported in rollover crash on I-75 in Chippewa County

Chippewa County, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) – An 18-year-old man was following a crash on I-75 near Three Mile Road in Soo Township on Tuesday.

According to the Michigan State Police Sault Ste. Marie Post, the driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, and ended up in the median. Authorities reported that the driver was from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries while not wearing a seatbelt.

Both northbound and southbound lanes of I-75 were closed for over three hours as emergency responders and investigators worked at the scene, but the road has since fully reopened.

Troopers indicated that there is no evidence to suggest drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. An investigation is ongoing.
