Accident on Highway 45 Leaves One Injured
A motorist is accused of running another vehicle off Highway 45, leading to a crash on Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
According to authorities, the incident occurred near Mile Marker 22, when a red sedan allegedly collided with a blue SUV, causing the latter to veer off the road. The driver of the SUV, a 32-year-old woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital by AMBULANCE.
Emergency responders from the local Fire Department were on the scene to assist and manage traffic. Witnesses reported seeing the red sedan speeding before the crash occurred.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 45 were briefly closed while debris was cleared. Towing services were dispatched to remove both vehicles.
The incident is under investigation by the State Police, who are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision. No further details have been released at this time.
