LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An ambulance transporting a patient collided with a JCPS school after being struck by a car on Muhammad Ali Boulevard at First Street at 4:54 p.m. on [date].
According to MetroSafe, the marked ambulance was responding to an emergency with lights and sirens activated when it was hit by a westbound vehicle on Muhammad Ali Boulevard. The ambulance was staffed by two crew members and contained one patient in the back.
Authorities reported that all three individuals in the ambulance were transferred to another ambulance and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was also hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening. Additionally, a pedestrian on the sidewalk suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital.
LMPD's First Division is investigating the accident. No further details about the circumstances leading to the crash have been confirmed.
