Idaho State Police Probe Injury Crash on I-84 Involving Motorcycle and Two Vehicles.

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — A three-vehicle crash on I-84 in Boise left a 20-year-old motorcyclist seriously injured on Sunday afternoon, prompting lane closures for emergency response.

According to Idaho State Police, the collision occurred on Aug. 2, 2026, at 1 p.m. near the Five Mile overpass at milepost 48. A 2026 Kawasaki ZX636 , operated by the 20-year-old Meridian man, rear-ended a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica driven by a 60-year-old woman, also from Meridian. Subsequently, the motorcycle was hit by a 2015 F-150 driven by a 61-year-old Boise man.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, authorities said. The rider was wearing a helmet, while all occupants of the Chrysler and F-150 were restrained with seat belts.

Eastbound lanes remained closed for approximately 1.5 hours to facilitate emergency responses. The incident is currently under investigation by Idaho State Police.
