Idaho State Police probe deadly ATV crash near Pine, Idaho.

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — A 47-year-old man from Gooding died Friday night in a ATV crash near Pine, Idaho, according to Idaho State Police.

The incident occurred on July 3 at 10:19 p.m. at the intersection of Lester Creek Road and Bombs Away Lane. A 2026 Kawasaki ATV was traveling northbound, carrying three occupants: the driver, a 33-year-old man, and a 48-year-old man, all from Gooding.

As the vehicle navigated a curve, it went off the right shoulder and struck a tree. The ATV came to rest in the middle of the road, blocking the entire intersection.

The driver was at the scene, while both passengers were to a hospital for treatment of their injuries. All occupants were wearing safety harnesses at the time of the crash.

The intersection remained closed for approximately four hours as emergency services responded to the scene. Idaho State Police was assisted by Elmore County deputies, Mountain Home EMS, Mountain Home Rescue, Pine EMS, and Pine Rescue.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
