PITT COUNTY, NC — A single-vehicle rollover crash occurred on Interstate 587 eastbound near Farmville on Tuesday, Aug. 19, leading to temporary lane closures, according to the Farmville Fire Department.
First responders arrived to find a vehicle that had overturned. No occupants were trapped inside the vehicle.
One individual was transported by EMS, but no details regarding their condition have been disclosed.
The incident caused the eastbound lanes of I-587 to close between Wesley Church Road and Mozingo Road while crews managed the scene.
Fire crews from Farmville and Bell Arthur cleared the roadway, allowing all lanes to reopen.
Agencies involved in the response included the Farmville Fire Department, Bell Arthur Fire Department, and Pitt County emergency personnel. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
