HPD Officer Seriously Injured in Traffic Enforcement Collision, According to Police.

HENDERSON (KTNV) — A Henderson Police officer was involved in a crash on Tuesday morning at approximately 7:44 a.m.

The incident occurred on the 215 westbound near Windmill, according to the Henderson Police Department. The officer, part of the Southern Nevada Task Force conducting traffic enforcement, was struck by a vehicle while on duty.

Capt. Seth VanBeveren stated that the injured officer was transported to a local hospital. “Although he has a long road to recovery ahead of him, he is expected to survive and make a full recovery,” VanBeveren confirmed.

Authorities reported that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Road closures in the area will remain in effect until further notice as officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Capt. VanBeveren also urged motorists to be vigilant and share the roadway with riders.
