HAZLEHURST, Miss. — Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed 69-year-old Sam Easterling on March 8 at approximately 11 p.m. on Caldwell Drive.
Surveillance footage shows a small, gray Toyota SUV striking Easterling while he was walking, according to the Hazlehurst Police Department. The vehicle did not stop after the collision.
Investigators noted that the Toyota likely has front-end damage. Authorities urge witnesses or anyone with information about the incident or the driver's identity to contact Hazlehurst Police at 601-894-1101 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-8477. A reward of up to $2,500 is available for tips leading to an arrest and conviction.
