Grove City man killed when dump truck overturns on U.S. 23

A dump truck overturned on U.S. Route 23 in Harrison Township around 7:30 a.m. Monday, July 27, killing a 62-year-old driver.

According to Pickaway County Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey, deputies responded just south of Weigand Road and found the truck on its side blocking both southbound lanes.

Deputies said the vehicle was a 2015 Kenworth dump truck owned by Decker Construction.

Authorities said the truck veered off the left side of the roadway and overcorrected twice, fishtailed, and came to rest on its right side.

The driver, identified as Michael E. Moyer, 62, of Grove City, was and partially pinned underneath, authorities said.

Authorities said the southbound lanes were blocked while responders worked the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office.
