SOMERSWORTH, N.H. — A crash on High Street near Market Basket led to lane closures and power outages on Tuesday evening around 6 p.m.
Authorities said a vehicle overturned, resulting in injuries to the driver. The Somersworth Fire Department reported that downed power lines caused outages in the vicinity, but power has since been restored.
Witnesses reported multiple bystanders rushed to aid the injured driver. One witness, Ashley Daigle, observed the scene while heading to a nearby restaurant with her children. She described seeing a truck on its side and individuals attempting to break the windshield to assist.
Another witness, Joshua Goodin, noted he was stopped at a red light when he heard a loud bang and saw power lines shaking. He stated he climbed through a broken passenger window to administer first aid.
