Phoenix Woman Indicted in Fatal Freeway Crash
PHOENIX, AZ — A woman was indicted Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in connection with a freeway crash that resulted in the death of her daughter.
Authorities said the incident occurred on the I-10 westbound lanes near 27th Avenue at approximately 2:41 p.m. Investigators confirmed two vehicles were involved in the crash, including a sedan and an SUV. The collision resulted in serious injuries to the driver of the sedan, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The daughter was 17 years old.
Emergency responders from the Phoenix Fire Department provided medical aid, while the Arizona Department of Transportation assisted with traffic control. Two westbound lanes were closed for several hours as an investigation was conducted. Towing services removed the vehicles shortly after.
Authorities did not release the names of those involved in the accident. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
