Fifth DUI leads to serious crash in New Philadelphia.

NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — A New Philadelphia man has been charged with a felony for operating a vehicle while impaired for the fifth time.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Michael Kerhin was driving on U.S. 250 in Tuscarawas County when he crossed the median, struck a storm drain, and overturned in the westbound lanes.

Kerhin has been charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a vehicle under suspension, operating a vehicle without a valid license, and failure to control.

Authorities confirmed this incident marks Kerhin's fifth Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI) charge, with three prior convictions, including one felony.

No injuries were reported from the incident, and the vehicle was towed from the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
